"Bahamas Blues" @ Salan Lofts, Mapelwood

Today I hung some of my recent works in a location in Maplewood known as Salon Lofts. My hair dresser of four years - Jennifer Nieman - has a fabulous little studio there. Jen has let me showcase my photography there for quite some time. THANK YOU JEN!! - Not only for beautifully and patiently coloring and taming my crazy head of hair, but also for all your support over the years.

I rotate the prints about every three months. Each are framed and matted and FOR SALE.

New Prenatal Section Coming Soon...

I just finished editing the photos from a prenatal session I did last week. My friend Nikki, who I've known since I was five, is getting ready to have her baby this month. It is her first time being pregnant and her first time experiencing her growing belly. She wanted to have pictures so she could always remember what it was like, and also share with little Ezra one day. I was thrilled to be able to do it for her. Her pictures are precious and I cannot wait to show them to her. Here are a few of the beautiful belly shots...

Yippadeey Skippadeey!

I just got the new canon 40D!!! It's so beautiful with it's 3inch LCD monitor and 10.1 megapixel sensor. I just can't stop looking at it. It's like getting a new car. :) It comes just in time for wedding season and I couldn't be more excited about it. We're going to take some gorgeous pictures in 2008!!

A Week in Paradise...

Every year I go to visit my mom who lives 5 months out of the year on a small island in the Bahamas. I always appreciate when I can step out of my reality for a moment and take some time to "refocus." The island is heaven on Earth with the most beautiful scenery and incredible energy. I think it must be a magnet for friendly, happy people. And of course the photographic possibilities are endless! Thank you to my mom and Liz for being my #1 photo subjects! I would LOVE to photograph weddings here in the near future. Let me know if you would like to plan a destination wedding! :)

Melissa & Jeff - St. Louis, MO

Maggie and I had such a blast photographing Melissa and Jeff's wedding. Between the ceremony, the limo bus, Busch Stadium, Washington Avenue, and their reception at Windows on Washington, we had a very fun filled day. The weather couldn't have been better and they were both up for anything which made for some fantastic photos. I'm pretty sure I took more pictures than I've ever taken during one wedding. It's been a treat going through all of them though.... There are so many good ones! I can't wait to show them when they return from their honeymoon in St. Thomas.

Ha Ha! She finally got em! Just when they least expected it... :)

Erica & Mike - Columbia, Missouri

What a busy weekend! Maggie and I photographed two weddings on Friday and Saturday. The first was in my old college town of Columbia, Missouri. With a high of 51 degrees, the bride and groom were very happy with their beautiful February day. Erica and Mike had their ceremony and reception at the Columbia Country Club. (Worth checking out if you're planning a Columbia wedding - www.columbiacc.net) It was a pleasure to spend the day here with such a sweet couple and their families. Both Erica and Mike work in the nursing field and have a very caring and warm nature about them. It wasn't too difficult to capture their love for people and especially one another in their pictures. Smiling Orchid Faces

Today I took a little break and went to the Botanical Gardens Orchid Show. It comes to St. Louis once a year and is well worth checking out. I suggest going on a sunny day so you can see these little charmers in their best light. I had no idea a flower could smile, frown, or stick its tongue out at your for that matter, until I saw an orchid. :) These are a few of my favorites.
